Obituary for Deacon James Thomas Jones

Deacon James Thomas Jones, Sr., age 83, of Wilmington, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, March 18, 2019 at Davis Funeral Home, 901 S. 5th Ave., Wilmington, NC 28401.

A celebration of Deacon Jones’ life will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 3701 Princess Place Dr., Wilmington, NC 28405.

Deacon Jones is survived by his children, James T. Jones, Jr. (Beverlyn) of Fredericksburg, VA, Johnny M. Jones (Elaine) of Clayton, Ellen Y. Barnes (Charles) of Wilmington and Milton Vann, Jr. of Wilmington; sisters, Mary Armstrong of Wilmington and Carolyn Vann of Wilmington; brothers, CSM Charles D. Jones (Ret.) of Fayetteville and George Jones, Sr. (Shirley) of Wilmington; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a host of relatives, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
